The smartphone year 2017 had it all: The big manufacturers outdid themselves almost with their products - especially Apple with a design restart. And as always, the new year begins with technology bangers in Las Vegas: The Consumer Electronics Show (CES, 9 to 12 January 2018) has a lot to offer. Fresh smartphones are also there - even if the top models to wait until the Mobile World Congress (MWC, 26 February to 1 March) in coming. In September 2017, Apple released the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus two top smartphones that impress in terms of speed, workmanship, and reception - but visually offer little new. With the Nokia 8, the Finnish manufacturer presented a solid premium class device with the dual camera, high-resolution 5.3-inch screen, and high-quality looking aluminum housing. In the laboratory test, the Nokia 8 with a brilliant grade of 2.3, convinced especially the dual camera and the powerful display. Even the current Qualcomm processor Snapdragon 835 and the 4 gigabytes of memory make the device a workhorse. Now everyone is waiting spellbound on the Nokia 9 - rumor is that the manufacturer will present the fresh top model on 19 January at an event.

At CES 2018, a handful of manufacturers showed new smartphones. So stingy Sony not with revelations and showed three fresh phones: Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia L2. Of particular note is the Xperia XA2 Ultra, which has a powerful 6-inch screen and a dual selfie camera. In addition, LG showed the strong V30 in an extraordinary color - strawberry red. Not to forget is the great features of the smartphone: It tops the screen-to-housing ratio of the G6 and has a high-contrast OLED display.
