Apple iPad 2018: Entry lets hope for new models

Apple iPad 2018: Entry lets hope for new models

Apple is working for 2018 on a new iPad without a home button, the news agency Bloomberg reported. The fresh tablet is probably equipped in part with the same technology, which is installed in the current iPhone X. These devices are definitely a larger border less display and Face ID on board, with the latter unlocks the user's device using facial recognition instead of fingerprint sensor - and authorized "Apple Pay" payments. At least one of the iPad's new 2018 models should have this technology. It should appear in a few weeks.

iPad 2018: Entries confirm new devices
Before new devices appear on the market, they must be registered with different registration authorities in the respective countries. In the case of the new iPad generation, the first documents of this kind appear. The Eurasion Economic Commission (EEC) recently lists the model numbers A1893 and A1954 from Apple. So the company from Cupertino, California plans two new iPads. More detailed information cannot be deduced from the entries. But the rumor mill for the new tablets has been seething for weeks.

iPad 2018: Presentation in March?
Apple plans probably for March, the first event of the year. According to information from several Apple suppliers, the company intends to introduce three new products there. A new MacBook, a new iPhone, and the already eagerly awaited new iPad should be on site. An official announcement of the event by Apple is currently out - but should soon follow.

iPad 2018: Plenty of power planned
For the new iPad, Apple probably relies on modern hardware for enough power. The equipment is either an A11X chip - tailored for the iPad variant of the A11 Bionic from the iPhone X - or even an A12X processor include, which is probably based on the CPU of the upcoming iPhone generation. In addition, the iPad 2018 on an Apple's own graphics processor and the "Neural Engine" feature - an AI chip from Apple, which came first in the one-chip system (SoC) of the iPhone X used.

iPad 2018: Is the iPhone X Notch coming?
Some currently circulating digital designs (mockups) show iPad models without the so-called "Notch": This is the black bar on the upper edge of the display of the iPhone X, in which the front camera for the face scan and other sensors sit. If Apple's new tablet has the Face ID technology, a similar bar is to be expected there - as seen in the mockup of COMPUTER BILD (picture above). So far, Apple has not commented on the rumors surrounding an upcoming iPad model in the look of the iPhone X.

iPad 2018: No OLED display planned
In contrast to the iPhone X, the iPad should not receive an OLED display in 2018, reports Bloomberg. Here Apple makes allegedly financial as well as technical restrictions a stroke through the calculation since OLED displays are more elaborate to produce than LCD screens. Samsung is currently the only manufacturer that produces a product of the required order of magnitude. Other potential new features for the fresh model include a faster processor and an updated version of the stylus pen. Apple recently introduced new iPad models at its developer conference WWDC 2017 (Worldwide Developers Conference) in June, including the iPad Pro 10.5. So it's quite possible that the next product update will be made in June 2018.
